Privacy Policy

Clear information about your data

This policy explains what we collect when you visit this site, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have written it to be read rather than to be complied with, and there is not much to it, because there is not much data.

Who Controls Your Data

The data controller for this site is the chicken-subway.co.uk editorial team.

For any question about your data, or to exercise any of the rights described below, contact us at

What We Collect

Three things, and no more:

Analytics Data

When you visit, our analytics provider records information such as pages viewed, approximate location at city level, device type, browser and how you arrived. This is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

Contact Form Submissions

If you write to us, we receive the name, email address and message you provide. Nothing else is attached.

Cookies

Small files stored by your browser. See our cookie policy for the full detail.

What we do not collect

We do not run user accounts, we do not take payments, and we do not collect anything you have not chosen to give us. There is no newsletter and no profile.

Why We Use It

Analytics

Analytics tells us which pages people read and where they stop reading. This helps us decide what to fix and what to write next.

Contact Messages

Contact form data is used to reply to you and for nothing else. That is the complete list of purposes.

Our Legal Basis

Under UK GDPR we rely on two legal bases:

Consent

For analytics cookies, our basis is your consent, given through the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time.

Legitimate Interest

For replying to a message you have sent us, our basis is legitimate interest — you wrote to us and expect an answer. Essential cookies that make the site function are also covered by legitimate interest and do not require consent.

Who We Share It With

Two categories of processor, and no advertisers:

Analytics Provider

Our analytics provider processes usage data on our behalf. Data may be transferred outside the UK, including to the United States, under the safeguards required by UK GDPR.

Hosting Provider

Our hosting provider necessarily processes server logs, including IP addresses, in order to serve the site.

We do not sell your data

We do not share it with gambling operators, advertising networks or data brokers. If we are ever legally compelled to disclose something, we will do so and tell you where we are permitted to.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you can ask us to do the following, free of charge. We will respond within one month:

Access — a copy of any personal data we hold about you.

Rectification — correction of anything inaccurate.

Erasure — deletion of your data, often called the right to be forgotten.

Restriction — a pause on our processing while a dispute is resolved.

Objection — an objection to processing based on legitimate interest, including analytics.

Portability — your data in a portable, machine-readable format.

Withdrawal of consent — at any time, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.

Exercise your rights

Send any request to:

[email protected]

If you are unhappy with our response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

How Long We Keep It

Contact messages

Kept for 12 months from your last correspondence, then deleted.

Analytics data

Retained for 14 months in aggregated form.

Cookies

Expire according to the schedule set out in our cookie policy.

Nothing is kept indefinitely.
